Marni Talbot Shpur ~ artist, photographer & writer

About the Artist

Glass Artist

Marni's work will surprise you. Although she can work with a variety of mediums, she first focus was on 'SANDBLASTING' glass and mirrors. She has been working with sandblasting techniques for over 18 years, creating unique works of art on glass, stone, woods and metals.

Marni’s diverse works of art range from ‘pictures’ which may be hung on a wall or in a window, murals on automotive and marine glass or plastics, custom monument stones, decorative lawn and garden ornaments, stepping stones, sundials and ‘memory stones’ just to name a few!

Her artwork is created using compressed air and sand. Tools range from large blasting machines to tiny sandblasting pens and polishers.

Her work can recreate the subtleties of nature and people from faint shadows to three-dimensional reality, which is achieved by varying the depth of sandblasting over the piece.

The Author

In addition to her art Marni is also a published author working mainly in poetry and short stories. She is currently working on a children’s learning and motivational series along with the help of her two Newfoundland’s who make up the two major characters.

The first volume of  The Fabulous Adventures of Figgy McDuffwill be available for purchase through the web site later this year and will teach children lessons like ‘stranger danger’ and what to do if your lost in the woods, ect.

The Photographer

Photography has also become a passion for Marni, as you will be able to discover as you explore the ‘virtual gallery’ and a lot of her photos later become intricate sand blastings in people homes.

Marnis motto is  ‘There is no limitation to imagination’ and it is a motto she lives by. If it can be imagined then it can be created!
